Where scouting of athletes has long been a cumbersome and labour intensive process that has been unchanged for decades, SportsHero (ASX: SHO) is set to utilise technology to transform scouting networks that require travelling the world to unearth the next generational talents.
Linking up with Footie Group Limited, the owners of Ellevate Football which is one of the world’s leading talent scouting platforms, SportsHero will have exclusive access to Ellevate Football’s technology and IP for use in Indonesia, one of the world’s fastest growing football markets.
As part of the 3-year-deal, Ellevate Football will be integrated into SportsHero’s OlahBola platform used by more than 3 million Indonesians, enabling amateur footballers to showcase their skills to scouts from top football clubs worldwide.
“We are delighted to partner with Ellevate Football to bring their world class talent scouting platform to the large football passionate Indonesian market. Ellevate Football’s functionality is a strong and complementary fit with our highly successful OlahBola app,” said SportsHero CEO, Tom Lapping.
“The new Ellevate Football offer will allow OlahBola to introduce a unique and valuable opportunity for the substantial number of young up-and-coming Indonesian football players to be discovered.”
While the OlahBola platform is primarily used to watch football content from top leagues including English Premier and La Liga, the Ellevate integration and app will enable parents to upload videos of their kids to become accessible by professional scouts from around the world.
Financial terms of the partnership will see subscription revenue generated from the Ellevate Football app in Indonesia split equally between Footie Group and SportsHero where the tech behind the app will be complemented by SportsHero marketing activities.
SportsHero anticipates launching the Ellevate Football app in Indonesia by March 2021 and will seek endorsement from the Football Association of Indonesia and other Indonesia football associations and identities.
SHO shares responded very well to news of the Ellevate Football partnership, reaching a 52-week high of $0.081 in morning trade which represented a 42.1% increase on their previous $0.057 close.
