We’re sick of them. Australian’s are sick and tired of being harassed by telemarketers offering to compare our energy bills with the promise of savings. If you don’t hang up on them within the first 30 seconds, they’ll waste an hour of your time before mentioning costly disconnection fees, before calling you up again in six months to waste more of your time.
That could all change soon with Simble Solutions (ASX: SIS) set to launch an upgrade to their SimbleHome app which will enable households to compare energy providers and switch energy retailer with the click of a button.
No more telemarketers asking you to confirm your address and date of birth fifteen times. No more abusing you for not wanting to switch providers. No more hold music while they connect you to an energy professional.
To launch the app, Simble has partnered with energy marketplace provider Accurassi, a tech company focused on reducing household costs and emissions through its energy marketplace platform.
Under the partnership agreement, Simple will supply the platform to residential and small business customers, as well as offer an upgrade to include installation of Simble’s Energy Meter which allows customers to track their energy usage through the app for a monthly fee.
“The partnership agreement with Accurassi will allow us to reach a broader market of electricity consumers and achieve scale in a fast and a cost-effective manner,” said Simble CEO, Ronen Ghosh.
“We see a significant opportunity for Simble to play a leading role in helping households reduce their rising energy costs and I believe Accurassi is the right partner to help us achieve this goal.”
The new retailer switch function will provide revenues for Simble if customers switch while providing consumers with easy-to-access energy market switching information.
Through COVID-19, the dramatic increase of employees shifting to work-from-home arrangements has seen significant increases in energy consumption where Simble hopes to empower Australians to understand their energy usage better.
If Simble is successful in securing widespread adoption to the SimbleHome app, it may finally bring an end to those invasive telemarketers.
